I'm kind of having a hard time deciding how to word my argumentative essay question. I know for sure that I want to talk about the health care system. By working in the medical field, I think this is a good topic for me because I can learn more about it and be prepared when I have to deal with it. I'd like to discuss insurance and how I think everyone should be required to have it. Medical bills are one of the top reasons people are in debt and most of those people never had insurance. Yes, insurance can get expensive, but it's going to be no where near the cost of what things are when you don't have insurance at all. So the argument is should everyone be required to have medical insurance?
Emily, this is agood question. I'm not sure if you're awre of it or not but the Health Care Law passed last year in congrss makes just such a provision. It would be interesting to know what that means for the average guy in the street. I'm also curious about how it realtes to toher insurance people "must" buy--for example, renter's insurance and car insurance. Great idea, can't see where you want to take it.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree with you on knowing more about what the average person is going to have to do for this law. It seems as that it will be required for everyone and is going to be a federal law in the near future. I think it will be good to see how much they thought this idea through and if it really will work out or people will not be able to afford it. It seems it might be a constant battle with individuals who have never had health insurance.
