Claim #3

Claim: Insurance companies are going to have to drop because of all of the 32 million new customers they are going to be receiving.

Evidence: One of the first things that is going to change is that insurers will no longer be able to sell policies with lifetime caps on insurance. Also starting in 2014, they won't be able to deny coverage to people with pre existing conditions.  This most likely is going to result in an explosion of premiums because legislation is not going to create universal coverage. Premiums are definitely going to be on the rise for people they consider to earn to much, but other citizens will see there premiums slowly begin to drop. Insurance companies will be receiving over 32 million new users and because of all the money coming in, they should be able to reduce there prices. If insurance costs drop more than 23 million people( a third illegal immigrants) will be able to afford coverage and less people will try to buy it after  they are already sick. Insurance companies are not excited about the new bill because of how quick everything is happening and it's going to restrict the insurers freedom of action.

  1. My question about this is a kind of simple one: why? why will insurance omcpanies ahve to drop coverage, these new insurees will be paying premiums. It seems that your sources are prociding more claims for support instead of real evidence in this example. fro example, if I were to say to you I had a pool tht I want to invite the whole neighborhood over to swim in, but it woudl be safer if I only allowed a portion of of the folks over, yo would say well why caon't you let everybody in. If I said, it may cause damage to my pool. You would think why I bothered inviting them over in the first place. If I said to you, that all of the splacshing of that many people would displace alot fo the water from the pool requiring me to add mroe water, add more chlorine, which could cause distress to eyes, and even skin--you would buy taht explanation better. the Insurers seem to be providing the first answer and not the second, for your argument to wokr you need the second kind of example as evidence.
